Egads! It's the End of the Term!
The Portfolio Guidelines
You've spent time and shed many tears to get through this course. Hopefully, you have a body of writing to show for it! Now it's time to jazz it up and be proud!
By the end of the term, it is expected that you have ALL of your writing polished/revised and placed lovingly into your portfolio. There are two options for the portfolio: a web page or a decorated hard copy. For either portfolio, you must include all of the work required, provide a meaningful illustration, and make sure you have revised the work to represent your best effort.
General Requirements for the Portfolio:
ð Creative Short Story on Greed/Curiosity
ð Critical Lens Essay on Short Stories
ð Critical Lens on Superstition
ð Top 3 Log Entries from LOF Log (or more)
ð Top 3 Journal/Class Entries Typed
ð
Catcher in the
ð Reflections on Portfolio and Class
This will be your last project grade. The number of assignments expected online will be given a point value based on a 100 scale; any missing will be subtracted. For example, if you had 10 assignments, each page will count as 10…While all pieces present and revised accompanied with simple illustration guarantees and A, going the extra mile with graphics and creativity is what it takes for the A+.
Option 1 The Website Portfolio
Open up an account with Yahoo and use www.geocities.com to build your site. Please follow the how to post work online guidelines. If you follow them exactly, you will have no trouble. If you run into trouble, first ask a classmate for help. Then, and only then, if you are still having difficulty, seek out Ms. Leone or Ms. Gokturk’s help.
All works should be posted in separate pages with illustrations for each and be linked back to your homepage. There is an HTML packet available in the lab, and Ms. G has also supplied tutorial links from your class pages under “Web Stuff.” Look and ye shall find.
**If there is a piece or pieces that you would prefer to not publish, you must in its place include a commentary of the assignment and perhaps why you opted out of publishing it. Otherwise, it will be assumed that you simply did not attempt to complete this part of the course.
OPTION 2 The Hard Copy Portfolio
Perhaps you are bashful about putting your work online and like the old fashioned method. Please note that you must include all the work listed above TYPED and REVISED as well. It is not acceptable to punch some wholes in your graded work or rip out pages from your journal. You must follow the guidelines as detailed above as well. Also note that you must find a way to make your portfolio inviting to read with illustrations for each work.
