Lesson Plan Basics:
A solid lesson incorporates the following:
- An Objective/Aim:
Have a clear goal or clear goals for your lesson
- Motivation:
Have students jump into your lesson either through personal connection,
prior learning, passage analysis, etc. Can be oral or in journal
- Activity:
Have your students interact with the text or task individually or as a
group
- Differentiate
your approach: try to appeal to as many types of learning as possible: Use
visual aids, Use handouts, Have students add notes to their journals
- Summary:
Either summarize concept(s) or have students do so
- Assessment:
Assess the class’ understanding
