Illustrating Characterization
In your group, research the character(s) you were assigned within the first 6 chapters. Compile TBE that best illustrates the characterization. Examine the physical traits, personality traits (through what they say or do), and what others say about this character or how they react. Once you have completed this, choose one or two artists in your group to DRAW the character to serve as visual diagram for the info you found.
· Draw a caricature as a group. Exaggerate the features.
· Label all physical descriptions with TBE and page numbers.
· Use voice bubbles to quote what others say about the character. These may coming from off the page or draw the other characters.
· Use a voice bubble to quote what the character actually says. Use more than one example.
· For actions, you might create a box with TBE and page numbers of actions.
· For all TBE, make an assessment of what this signifies. In other words, what is your view, as the reader, of this character?
