Composition
The
Before
you begin writing any piece, you should think about what you are going to
write. Please answer the following questions, which will serve as a starting
point.
I.
What
is the dominant impression you want your reader to have of you when they finish reading
your essay? Why?
II.
What
is the dominant impression you want your reader to have of your subject
(the person you are writing about)? Why?
III.
Describe
what the subject looks like. Provide details so we can “see” him/her.
IV.
Describe
hard facts/historical background
about the person.
V.
Briefly describe three
(minimum) incidents you had with the subject that illustrate the dominant impression of you or the
subject. BE SPECIFIC! GIVE DETAIL!!! In other words, what actions
happened that helps illustrate the quality you want to portray about yourself?
Think about incidents in symbolic terms, character illustration, or clearly
identifying a before and after.
