Title and Heading (5 points)	Aptly indicates the subject of the paper.
Research: Body/Development & Paragraphs (50 points)	Information clearly relates to the main topic. It includes several supporting details and/or examples. All paragraphs include introductory sentence, explanations or details, and concluding sentence. Paper fulfills minimum length requirement. Gives reader a thorough introduction and understanding of the topic.
Research Organization (10 points)	Information is very organized with well-constructed paragraphs and subheadings.
Sources (20 points)	All sources (information and graphics) are accurately documented in the desired format. At least three different sources have been used and cited.
Mechanics (20 points)	No grammatical, spelling or punctuation errors. Paper has been proofread and revised!
Works Cited Page (10 points)	There is a separate page with the works used to create the research. The MLA format has been used correctly.

Notes or Note Cards (15 points)	Notes are recorded and organized in an extremely neat and orderly fashion. In addition to the first 20, more research has been compiled. All sources are clearly indicated.
Outline (15 points)	Outline is complete and follows a logical order. The paper follows the outline’s promise. The outline may have been revised from the first version.
Effort & Improvement (20 points)	Evidence of substantial time. Student is working at highest potential; details are thorough and factual. There are no errors in content. Student sought help in or out of class from teacher and students. Student chose a challenging topic. Revisions are obvious from rough to final draft. Class time was used wisely. Homework was completed on time.
